Welcome to an information website about Blaise Siwula. An improvising musician living Brooklyn and at times Mérida MX. Plus with updates of many changes going on everywhere. New musicians and longtime collaborators…. new places to perform…repeats at previous venues. New releases available virtually and physically. A time to travel….. a time protest. Some things have ended and some new opportunities…life in a world of spontaneous composing.
Currently I’m hanging in Mérida MX having finalized a new release on NoFrillsMusic “Los jaguares sueñan flamingos” with drummer/poet Israel Flores Bravo from Queretaro MX. This was after 10 days in Portugal celebrating the release of “Waterscapes” on Creative Sounds Recordings with guitarist Jorge Nuno from Lisbon with 5 shows.
all photos on this web site were taken by barbara siwula unless noted.
Live at Zaratan Gallery Lisboa with Pedro Arelo bari sax, André Calvário drums and Blaise Siwula alto sax
and a recording playing clarinet with the Lisbon string trio - Ernesto Rodrigues(viola), Miguel Mira (cello) & Alvaro Rosso (double bass).
April 2017 will be a celebration of “Rags to Ragas” with pianist Luciano Troja in Brooklyn then off to Sicily for the first week in May.
Then there is the ongoing collaboration with pianist Eric Plaks “Time In” on NoFrillsMusic…working towards a new recording….
